I saw a movie earlier with Katie (Mr. and Mrs. Smith if anyone cares – it was surprisingly good). After we parted ways I decided to do some research into GRE books. I headed to Barnes and Noble @ Southcenter. Now, I was a bit surprised to see KISS 106.1 parked outside the store. I’m generally a pretty cool kid – but it had never really been my experience that other cool kids hang out at the bookstore on a Friday night.
After searching for parking (the lot looked a lot like Christmas) I found a nice spot and walked towards the store. It was *packed*. Like, packed. Like more people in the bookstore than I’ve ever seen in the bookstore. More than on the first day of the semester at the college bookstore. More than at Christmas. I can’t even tell you.
I soon figured out that Harry Potter releases in a few short hours. Apparently this causes quite a frenzy. The store had all sorts of things going on. I’m not sure if you were supposed to dress in costume – but people were. Adults to Kids – I would say that 80% of the patrons were dressed for the event.
The store had all sorts of games – toss your glasses in the hole, a scavenger hunt, a triva quiz, find all the books with the word owl in the title, and other random games. Who knew!
So now I’m the proud owner of a GRE test prep book. Watch out world – I did have to scoot past wizard or two to get it.
